rebates are being offered by both the Federal and
Provincial Government to homeowners who complete a
home energy assessment and upgrade their home for
energy efficiency.

As part of the OPA's (Ontario Power
Authority) Every Kilowatt Counts program, rebates are available for residents of
Ontario who replace their old central air conditioning or heating
systems with ENERGY STAR® qualified models that are installed
by a participating "Cool Savings" contractor.
$250 Rebate
for an ENERGY STAR qualified Central Air conditioning
system (ENERGY STAR qualified criteria = minimum 14.5 SEER and 12
EER ).
$400 Rebate
for a "Tier 2" level central air
conditioning system. ("Tier 2" level qualified criteria = minimum 15
SEER and 12.5 EER)
$125 Rebate
for a mid or
high-efficiency furnace with an Electronically
Commutated Motor (ECM).
$25 Rebate
when you replace your old non-programmable
thermostat with one that is programmable.

New for 2009!
HRTC
- Home Renovation Tax Credit - the Federal Government's
new budget includes a 15% income tax credit
for eligible home renovations between January 27, 2009
and February 1, 2010. Credit can be claimed for the 2009 Tax year on
expenditure over $1000 but not more than $10,000
($1,350 tax relief max). Eligible
home renovations include furnaces, central air conditioners, whole
home HEPA cleaners, Energy Recovery Ventilators and tankless water
heaters.

UTILITY COMPANY REBATES - for
homeowners upgrading existing heating & cooling systems |

$15 Gas Bill Credit
on programmable thermostats installed between April 1, 2009 and
December 15, 2009. Forms must be received by Enbridge Gas
Distribution Inc. on or before December 31, 2009.
